Therapist Description

 

Julie St. Pierre, OT Reg. (Ont)

Julie brings with her more than 25 years of experience working with both children and adults! She is fully bilingual and is happy to offer services in French or English. Julie is trained in the SOS Approach to feeding and is knowledgeable in the areas of sensory processing, fine and gross motor skills, and activities of daily living. She is also certified to provide Sensory Yoga.

Rachel Pessah, M.Cl.Sc., Reg. CASLPO

Rachel is the owner of Bright Spot Therapy Services Ltd. She is a speech-language pathologist and has worked with all ages in clinic and community settings including public schools, hospitals, group homes, and teletherapy. Rachel has been a part of the Autism Assessment Team and the Feeding Initiative Pilot Project in Timmins. Rachel is certified in Hanen It Takes Two to Talk and More than Words programs. She has advanced training in feeding, autism, executive functioning, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).

Nina Vincent, B.A.

Nina has a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a minor in social work, and is presently enrolled in a counselling psychology master’s program to further her education to become a psychotherapist.
Nina currently works as a rehabilitation behavioural support in Sudbury after previously holding positions as a developmental support worker, entry-to-school therapist, semi-independent living
support worker, and shelter support worker. In clinic and community settings, Nina has worked with individuals of all ages, including those in preschools, primary schools, rehabilitation facilities, and in
various home care settings.
With her experience, Nina had the chance to work with a varied clientele, including those ranging in age
from 2 to 80, as well as those from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds. She also had the chance to
work with a wide range of diagnoses, including cognitive impairments, developmental delays, and
mental illnesses.
Nina works under the direction of Regulated Health Care Professionals (RHCP) such as Speech and
Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, and Psychologists.
Nina’s interventions and services, provided through Bright Spot Therapy Services, are under the direct supervision of Occupational therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists.

Catherine MacLean, Reg. CDAAC, Reg. OSLA,

Catherine has been working as a Communicative Disorders Assistant for over twenty years. She is registered and in good standing with the Communicative Disorders Assistant Association,
Speech-Language & Audiology Canada, The Ontario Brain Injury Association and the Geneva Centre for Autism.
Catherine gained her experience working within the preschool, rehabilitation, school, and home settings. She has worked with all populations. She provides speech, language, fluency, literacy, social and cognitive communication, augmentative and alternative communication interventions to both adult and pediatric populations. She is trained in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). Catherine provides services for North Bay, Sturgeon Falls, Manitoulin Island, Espanola, Sudbury, and surrounding areas.
She provides education and integrated services as part of many land-based schools. Services can be individual, group, or completed through teletherapy.
Catherine has a strong working relationship with the children’s agencies and rehabilitation services providers in the areas she services. She works with these supports to provide professional development, collaborative goal working models, and train the trainer education sessions.
The intervention and services Catherine provides through Bright Spots Therapy Services are
under the direct supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist.

Lisa Romanyszyn, OTA/PTA

I am an Honours Graduate from the Occupational Therapist Assistant/ Physiotherapist Assistant Diploma Program at Humber College, School of Health Sciences in 2017 and furthered my education and passion for fitness attaining a Personal Trainer Certification with International Sports Science Association in 2022. Lisa has experience working in the hospital setting as an OTA/PTA/Reactivation Worker.
