Ignite Behaviour Consulting is a local organization that provides ABA services, training and consultation to children and families in the Thunder Bay area. Home to Thunder Bay’s only on-site Board Certified Behaviour Analyst, the team at Ignite is passionate about empowering caregivers and helping children discover new ways to interact with the world around them.

Ignite offers Intensive Behaviour Intervention (IBI) for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ABA Therapy, caregiver coaching and consultation services for both families and professionals.

 

 

Therapist Descriptions

 

Carolyn Mancuso, M.A., BCBA, Executive Director

Carolyn discovered her passion for ABA when she first began working with children with developmental disabilities in 2010. She completed her Master’s Degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis at the University of South Florida, and became a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst, in 2014. She has supervised IBI programs in both Southern and Northern Ontario, and is an approved Clinical Supervisor for the Ontario Autism Program (OAP). Carolyn is thrilled to have the opportunity for her team to continue to provide ABA supports to children and families in the district of Thunder Bay.

 

Dominique Gagne, RBT Clinical Coordinator

Dominique started her journey in the field of ABA in 2008. She quickly discovered a great passion and joy in working with children and families. She has her DSW and became a Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) in 2019. Throughout the years she has worked in various roles, including: Instructor Therapist, Behaviour Consultant, and
ABA Therapist. Dominque joined the Ignite team in 2019 in the role of Lead ABA Therapist. She is energized by supporting caregivers through sharing her knowledge of ABA with them!

Michelle Smith, Supervised Lead Instructor Therapist

Michelle joined the Ignite team in spring of 2021 after she graduated from Lakehead University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She is passionate about working one-on-one with our kiddos every day and finding out what works best for each of them individually. Michelle loves seeing the day to day progress they make along with the major milestones they achieve.

Hannah St. George, Supervised Lead Instructor Therapist

Hannah joined the Ignite team in the fall of 2023. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Indigenous Studies from Brock University. Having a younger sibling who is on the spectrum ignited Hannah’s passion for education and working with special needs children. Hannah’s favourite part of her role is sharing the excitement with each child as they learn or try something new.

Gillian Hansen, Supervised Instructor Therapist

Gillian joined the Ignite team in fall 2021 after graduating from Lakehead University in the spring with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She enjoys watching the clients she works with grow, creating unique connections with
each kiddo and seeing the big smiles on their faces each day.

Kayla Kachur, Supervised Instructor Therapist

Kayla is an Early Childhood Educator who is very passionate about working with children. She has always been drawn to sharing in their learning successes; both big and small. After working in the childcare field for 4 years, she knew that she wanted to find a specialized area to expand her skills and work one-on-one with children. Kayla joined the Ignite team in summer 2023. She holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and a B.A. in Psychology from Lakehead University. Kayla loves getting to know the children, learning about all of their special interests, and seeing them learn new things.
