CCR would like to thank you for your patience over the last four weeks. It has been a challenging time for you. We appreciate the space you have given us to digest this massive change in mandate and give thoughtful consideration about our role in the future of the Ontario Autism Program.
Since the announcement we have received many of your calls and we appreciate that you took the time to speak with us directly about your concerns. The information that you shared with us is integral to our planning and discussions with MCCSS.
Beginning March 18, 2019 we will reach out to each of you. The purpose of engaging in 1200 individual conversations is to share our understanding of the application process (details have yet to be released), to provide an overview of the service options available to you as of April 1, 2019 and to seek your feedback and recommendations about additional services that we should include.
As we begin to transition our focus remains on the two goals that matter most: supporting you and your family, and keeping our skilled professionals in the North. CCR is proud to deliver service and also work with other providers from across the North to ensure that you access the service and provider you feel is best for your family.
Families will soon be completing their behavioral plans and will be looking to continue the service without delay. We look forward to working with you to ensure continuity of care.
We also understand that many families have been waiting for a very long time and as soon as the family budget is provided you will be ready to purchase service. We want to be ready for you.
CCR shares your concerns related to the new funding allocations. We have shared these concerns with MCCSS and continue to do so.
We admire and support the power of the parental voice. You have and continue to be the best advocates for your child.
Thank you for your ongoing advice and feedback. You are playing a key role in shaping future services and identifying the many gaps that families in the North region struggle with every day.
