Children learn to become their own personal superheroes by recognizing social obstacles. First, as “social detectives” they recognize social cues in their environment. Then, as “superheroes” they work on being flexible thinkers and increase self-regulation skills in a fun interactive way.

Focused ABA targets one or two behavioural goals at a time as compared to comprehensive ABA treatment program which targets a wider variety of goals. To begin, you will virtually meet with our BCBA who will help develop programming based on identified goals (joint attention, transitions, communication, self-help skills, play skills, etc.). Over an agreed upon period, our ABA therapists will work 1:1 with your child to help achieve the identified goals. Parents will also have the opportunity to be involved in sessions or BCBA coaching to help generalize learning to the home environment.

Program Format: Initial virtual consult and plan development with a Behaviour Analyst with 60 hours total weekly intervention with an ABA Therapist at the centre to be used as per need of child.

Who is Eligible:

- Best suited for families looking for support with 1-3 skill building goals or families looking for support with challenging behaviour
- Children with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Children aged 18 months to 16 years old

This service is reserved for children who are not actively receiving direct ABA services, or services via telehealth, that are supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Provider:Ignite Positive Behaviour

Caregivers will have the opportunity to participate in a 1-hour consultation meeting with the BCBA to discuss their goal(s), provide any relevant information about their child, and have the BCBA complete a brief observation of their child. Following the initial consultation meeting, the BCBA will provide a recommendation(s) for goals and your child will receive ABA therapy in person or via video, with our clinical team, for 3 hours a week, for 12 weeks. ABA skill building sessions will last 1.5 hours and occur twice per week. Caregivers will be provided the opportunity to participate in service and/or to receive coaching on ABA strategies throughout the 12 weeks.

This service is available in English with limited spaces for service available in French.

• Best suited for caregivers looking for support in teaching their child a new skill or in reducing the frequency of challenging behaviour
• Children with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Children aged 18 months to 14 years old

Children who engage in any of the following are not eligible for this service:
self-injury, aggression, property destruction, pica, other potentially dangerous behaviour, and clients actively receiving direct ABA services, or services via telehealth, that are supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

A 20 hour online course developed as a primer for families. Service is inclusive for caregivers having children with ASD.

Provider:Roots & Wings Psychology

Children and youth with ASD experiencing anxiety are not alone! During this 3-hour training caregivers will learn about anxiety, the various ways it presents in children/youth with ASD and what Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy strategies to use with their child/youth at home. Caregivers will practice strategies and develop a plan to support their child/youth with a specific goal. Two one-hour individualized follow-up consultations are provided following the training.

Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based learning approach commonly used in treatment programs for individuals with ASD. This cognitive behaviour therapy group is intended for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder aged 8 to 13 years who experience symptoms of anxiety. The group will focus on increasing knowledge about anxiety and how it impacts one’s life, the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, identifying maladaptive and unhelpful thoughts, reducing avoidance of anxiety-provoking situations, and increasing coping skills. All sessions aim to teach practical skills for children to use in everyday life to better manage their worries, in addition to providing parents with tools to support their child. All materials will be provided.

Note: All applicants must undergo an intake interview to determine eligibility.
